Who We Are

We are a group of teachers representing each school within the LLN Zone, elected or chosen by our schools to represent teachers and staff.

Shared Purpose

The shared purpose of the LLN Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) is to support and influence the overall mission of the LLN by amplifying the voices of our teaching communities. In response to the ever-changing needs of our learners, the TAC will be responsible for providing the kinds of innovative and collaborative support that our educators identify as most beneficial. Additionally, the TAC will work to ensure the zone is accountable to its own community.

Composition

  • Each school will have at least 2, but no more than 4 representatives.

  • Each school will design their own process for qualifying and selecting members for the teacher council.  It is strongly encouraged that staff members at each school have the majority say in the selection of their representatives.

Responsibilities

For the 2023-2024 school year, the TAC will be responsible for:

  • Shared professional learning: the TAC will host Zone-wide, teacher-led professional development events in August and Janaury.

  • New teacher support: the TAC will host events geared toward supporting new teachers, including community-building and resource sharing.

  • Innovation awareness: the TAC will create communications to help build awareness of the LLN, the TAC, and the successes of LLN member schools
